私たちケアンズ日本人会は、｢在豪日本人の相互扶助と親睦、そして日豪経済文化の親展と親睦を目指す｣ことを掲げ、下記3つの目標を持って1992年7月設立となりました。役員12名、法人13社、会員120名でのスタート

目標：領事館を出張所の誘致、日本語補習授業校の設立と法人化
Goal: Invite consulates to branch offices, establish and institute Japanese supplementary school

達成：1995年4月、日本語補習授業校を設立
1997年2月、ケアンズ領事館出張所　駐在官事務所スタート
1997年4月、日本語補習授業校を法人化
Achieved: Established Japanese language supplementary school in April 1995

在豪日本人先輩たちの営々とした努力により、その歴史を積み重ね、22余年の伝統を誇る組織となりました。日本人会は、在留邦人に対する憩いの場、集いの場を提供するにとどまらず、現地社会との交流をも果たしながら、チャリティー活動や文化活動を通じ、日本・ケアンズの友好と親善にも積極的に寄与しております。今後も役割を果たして行くためには、多くの在留邦人、駐在員の方々のご理解とご協力が必要です。
Through the continuous efforts of Japanese seniors in Australia, the Japanese society of cairns has accumulated its history and became an organization boasting a tradition of more than 22 years. そのほかにも安心して暮らせる環境整備は日本人会の任務の一つと考え、日本人の治安・安全を確保する為、領事館、警察やケアンズ病院など等、オーストラリアの関係当局・機関との緊密な関係維持・強化に努めています。特に日本企業におかれましては、当地で活動されている企業の社会的責任の一環として日本人会にご理解賜わりますようお願い申し上げます。
